T R Jones was born in Kansas, raised in Texas and was educated in Computer Science. He moved to Atlanta, GA in 2000 to pursue a career in the music industry. After about a year or so of recording in studio after studio and writing and producing lyrics for himself and groups he has been a part of, with no success in becoming an artist, T Jones decided to work and gain a career as an Administrative Assistant with the government. This was not his calling. After a couple of years of working and receiving advancement within the company his was working for, T Jones received a digital camera from his brother for his birthday. The first images were not what he expected. His friends and family wanted him to start shooting them and that lead to others approaching T Jones to do photo sessions and creating portfolios of them. Continued trial-and-error with guidance from friends, family, and colleagues helped fine tune these efforts.
As his portfolio was building, the idea that photography could be another way to make a living began to seep into his consciousness. The human being is the only animal that can change its job description! All others are confined to getting (and not being) food. He, therefore, decided to make photography his full time job. Marketing images became part of a new job description. He was encouraged when his first model posted his photographs and composite card, designed by T R Jones, on the internet and they began emailing and calling him to find out who took his photos. Since then, work and fun has become synonymous in his profession.
As his photography improved, there was a desire for greater detail. He started created flyers, posters, calendars, and the list just grew and grew over a short period of time. Venues, models, recording artist, authors, etc started acquire the work of T Jones for photography, graphic design, business cards, brochures, web design, book cover layout, album covers, logos, t-shirts, and much, much more. The change to medium format ensued. He upgraded to a digital SLR and the quality of the photos became much more appealing and requested. He has also learned a number of editing software and when it comes to a computer there is nothing he can’t find or do on it.
T R Jones photographs have appeared in various media including calendars, postcards, flyers, posters, portfolios, web sites, magazines, etc. He has built a nice clientele in such a short period of time and it seems to be growing each day. You may see other works at T Jones Portfolio. He is in the process of creating his own website and launching a poster calendar for 2006 called Men of Dreams. Keep on the look out for T Jones Photography and Graphics because he might be the next person to help you on your next major project.
